Niche affiliate marketing is probably in my opinion, is one of the best methods in bringing traffic to your page and earning income.
But the problem with that, in just about with any category niche you choose, you have TON’S of information from all areas within that niche to talk about.
For example, let’s say your Niche is “Dogs”, a few topics you can blog about is:
- Different types of Dogs (Golden Retriever, Husky’s, Pit Bull, etc)
- How Train Your Dogs
- Dog Health Tips
- Playful Activities Idea for your 3 legged Blind Boston Terrier
- and So Much More
But hey, as business owners we CAN’T be all things for our readers.
I mean having your site to be a One-Stop-Site would be great and fantastic if we could, however, you just can’t meet the needs and wants of everyone, you would run yourself dry just trying to provide that kind of information by yourself.
BUT … that doesn’t mean you throw your hands up with the white flag in defeat and surrender.
Stick with me throughout this blog, and we’ll go over a few ideas that come to mind and see if they get your creative juices flowing.
Why Is Having A Niche So Important?
First and for most, lets dive a little in deeper, on what is a “Niche” anyway??
We have all seen the word floating all around the Internet and in recent time, a lot more lately.
You’ve read the newsletter articles and the email letters from some of the top know it all gurus, that are now shouting “Niche” as the new “catch” word of the time.
But this term is not necessarily new.
Basically, a “niche” in simpler terms is finding a specific target market and catering to their specific need and/or want.
Let me give you a quick example…
As an online entrepreneur coach and consultant, my business is providing a service of helping you create your online business from scratch.
Now obviously, that business arena is HUGE!!! so what I want to do is, break it down into smaller target markets.
I may only want to deal specifically to the needs and wants of a local Dental Office, so I may want to specialize in Dental Office Marketing.
Or, I could take on the Fitness sector and specialize in marketing Weight Loss.
Get where I am going here??
It can be too much to focus in on every sector to all businesses out there, so instead, I break the business sector down into a smaller target markets, and the find the ones that I want to gain knowledge in and cater to that group specifically.
Ok, so now you may be thinking, “um, that’s cool for you being an online entrepreneur coach and all, but I’m affiliate marketing for a program…how does “niche marketing” affect me?”

I’m Glad you asked…. When people first enter the online entrepreneur world with the desire to start an online business, they typically go into the “affiliate marketing” niche (like myself) and promote products and or services with some sort of marketing theme.
It makes sense from a marketing point of view, that you go where there is a big demand.
However, with the big demand, also comes big competition, and the “online marketing” world is packed and full with the highly competitive.
So…what do you do?
Well, here’s 1 thing you can do, you might need to sit back and think of all the markets outside of the “online marketing” world.
Target a group that could possibly use your products/ services and specifically target your messages to that group of the interested.
Um, I feel an example coming on here…ah OK, here is one for you.
Let’s say you join an affiliate program for an autoresponder service.
Great way to start, because you know that anyone who starts an online business need an autoresponder.
And yes, while that maybe great, but there are 2 key factors that may make it NOT so great, and that’s the fact that you are NOT the only autoresponder service in cyber-land and they’re too targeting the same niche that you are.
But…the difference between you and them, is this article…Wink Wink. 😉
See, we all go for the “obvious” niche or target market when we 1st sign onto an affiliate program.
We tend to go after the ones that are just like us and market to them.
But what we may fail to do is, dabble in the many OTHER niches or target markets out there, that might not have heard of an autoresponder, and have no idea on what it is, let alone how much time having an autoresponder can save them.
For example, take a niche like, … Real Estate Agents.
A few of your friends are in the market for a new house.
Every week they receive mail (or snail mail) for the new listing sheets for all the houses listed that week.
The idea is for them to go through these sheets and see if any of the houses peak their interest, and then they are to call their Agent and ask to view the property.
Now that’s an OK system kind of old school, but imagine how much time and MONEY a Real Estate Agent could save if they had an autoresponder service?
Using an Autoresponder is fast and so simple.
All the real estate agent have to do is create a new listing template, enter the email address and names from their list of clients (which even that can be automated) and auto-blast out the new listings once a week, or more often if they wanted to.
There’s absolutely No more printing costs, No Mailing Costs and the time factor you have saved yourself and them is PRICELESS!
See the potential here???
Are you starting to get the idea about finding other market section (customers) for your servieces or products?
If you are an affiliate for an autoresponder service you could promote autoresponders to people who are just getting started with their online business, or even local businesses they may still send out appointment reminder cards.
Imagine the amount of expensense they can be savings for them, if they had an great autoresponder service working with them.
Not to mention the time savings of having staff members to waste paper by printing borning labels out and posting them out?
Nah, I’m OK.
It’s all about seeing what they do and how your service can save them the time and money.
AND…the best part about this, is that there’s not too many businesess on this sort of business stance. HAPPY FISHING!!!
Let’s step away from the “online marketing” niche for a second, and lets take a look at other ways of creating profit through niches.
Another thing is to look to your hobbies and interests.
Now let’s say you DJ on the weekends as a side hustle.
With that same hustle, you can create profit by creating a little niche website geared towards DJing.
Your site could focus on showing readers “how to get into the weekend DJ business”, you can add and provide online sites that offer good DJ equipment (that you are affiliated with of course).
The whole concept about NICHE Marketing, is that you DON’T have to stick with just the “Online Entrepereur” niche as I do.
You can find a niche base on an affiliate programs, service, local business, a hobby or a special interest.
A few of the top marketers have found success in other niches like; stop smoking, weight loss, online dating, model trains, travel, golf and yup even gaming.
Don’t limit yourself to the online entreperneur niche.
Step out of your comfort zone and find other market segments that are not being talked about or where there is the least competition and build your niches around those.
It’s like creating your own path of least hassle and a path to More Profits!
